Dec 9, 2005 · Driving a Solstice in the snow Some good advice here on winter driving here in this forum today. I've already had my Solstice out in the snow to see what it would do. It was a Sunday morn in the northeast, 3 inches of snow. Traction sucks, but the car is evenly balanced and handles better than a RWD normaly should.

Apr 4, 2012 · The Solstice stays in the garage for winter. But anyway, isn't the front spoiler going to get beat to heck, it is very low to the ground, no clearance for any kind of snow. Without snow/ice tires you're going to get stuck going anywhere. 2009 Solstice GXP Coupe #492, Mysterious, Auto, 8620 miles.

Nov 27, 2006 · Due to the tragic death of my winter car in November last year, I did drive my Solstice all winter here in the Midwest. I live right off of Lake Michigan and get a lot of "Lafe Effect" snow, we average 80-85 inches per year. I ran some 17" wheels with 225/55R17 (same OD as stock) Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50 tires.

As September arrives again it won't be long before that slippery white stuff begins falling from the sky again here in New York and it will be time to put my Solstice Coupe into hibernation for the winter months. Which prompts the question of best practices for winter storage.

Oct 18, 2014 · Simply disconnect the negative terminal. You won't necessarily know you have an issue -- you are not going to see a mushroom cloud; however, you WILL see a shortening of battery life -- a scientific fact. Lack of charge WILL cause sulphation and sulphation WILL shorten the overall life of the battery.
Storing your Solstice for the winter months
Sep 9, 2006 · 1) Thoroughly wash and detail (sealant/wax) the exterior of the car. Do the body, trim, wheels and tires. For the convertible top, vacuum it, then clean it if it is real dirty and give it a fresh coating of protectant. I use a product called Raggtopp. 2) Completely rinse the bottom of the car including the wheel wells.

Jul 9, 2008 · I am interested in purchasing a Solstice sometime within the next few months. It would replace my Pontiac Pursuit as my daily driver, including during the winter. I've thought about this a lot and am wondering if I prepare myself properly with studded winter tires if this car will be acceptable in the winter? A couple things to consider:

Between the two I feel ready for the winter project of building the perfect driver seat over for less than $500 to install in my showroom condition Solstice. I search for the other parts I need seat back, seat pad, cover every couple days. No luck so far.
