WEBJun 30, 2024 · Yes. I bought a 13 inch M4 iPP 1TB. And I kept my 12.9 inch 2018 iPP to use as a screen to watch content while on my exercise bike. The main reason I FINALLY decided to upgrade is that the M4 feels noticeably more responsive than the 2018–particularly with handwriting using the Pencil Pro.

WEBDec 22, 2021 · The refurb 2018 had noticeably worse battery life compared to the 2020 12.9, 2021 12.9 and 2020 Air 4 with the same settings/tasks. Iirc, the 2021 Pro 12.9 and 2020 Air 4 typically gave me 15+ hours onscreen time and standby battery drain was around half of the 2018 Pro 12.9.

I wanted more RAM. Sometimes the 2018 model would struggle with my Safari usage (tend to open lots of tabs) and my multitasking habits.
