In the Ditra Installation Handbook for single layer OSB or ply subfloor it says 5/8". But that's with Ditra on it, not the shower pan. Finished installation per the manufacturers instructions and after grouting the floor, I noticed it sounded a bit strange when I tap it. Sounds a little hollow, like a tile with poor coverage.

I had planned on doing a dry pack extension for the shower pan per Schluters recommendations for extending their shower pans.

Apr 15, 2023 · The shower was put in 8-9 years ago, since then we have had to regrout/caulk some of the floor tiles. You can tell that there is no mortar under the tiles any more they push up and down. I removed some of the tiles in the problem area and the orange part of the kerdi board had come away from the main board and is wet.
