There are a couple of free programs out there. one similar to photoshop is GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program. One similar to illustrator/corel is Inkscape. Draw Freely.

Adobe CS3 or CS4 graphics suite that includes Photoshop and Illustrator. I use the Adobe products my self. There are some very good open source free programs out there as well.

I’ll be running photoshop and software from Fuller Moe, I need to know what can handle those programs with ease. The Microsoft Surface 2 is very appealing to me.

They usually use a vector drawing program like CorelDraw or Illustrator and sometimes add color using a rastor program like CorelPaint or Photoshop.
