Why was boruto's rasengan green? : r/Boruto - Reddit
It's a cool Rasengan but I strongly felt green doesn't match Boruto's theme. Might be because it's still imperfect. If looking for a possible explanation, then I would say the color was Boruto's unintentional use of lightning nature (he's gonna learn rainbow rasengan at some point).

May 1, 2022 · Although Boruto was born with the wind chakra nature, Sasuke mentions that he has a strong lightning chakra nature as well, and he unconsciously applies his lightning nature to the rasengan. In fact he had to do more training to apply his wind chakra to the rasengan to make the green rasengan which is stronger(idk the name).

Naruto shaped his wind as sharp and small as possible to the point where it can cut human cells. Boruto only shaped it like a saturn to make it more powerful. The Rasen-Shuriken is a completly different jutsu.
