I live in Pittsburgh and I can barely get up 20-25 degree hills which are very common especially a few miles south of downtown. The onewheel struggles a lot and goes very slow and gets hot when going up hills which is a major turn off for me.

WEBJan 2, 2023 · Cruising at 30kph (20mph) feels safer than a stock XR but not as solid as a GT, but on places where you need low speed torque (incline, curb nudge, etc), it’s so much more solid. I can climb curbs with more consistency than a stock XR. Pev.dev is the VESC forum, and it is so much more hardcore than r/onewheel (sorry).
