    Why did NAPCO discontinue making 4x4's?
    The change in the front end design of GMC trucks made the 4x4 conversion a three hour installation _no longer possible_. This was a significant loss for the 4x4 aspect of NAPCO, as the loss of that much business was devastating. They continued making kits, but more suited for heavy duty dump trucks and those 1-1/2 tons and larger for a few more years.
