My Surface Detach icon in the system tray after an initial boot up states that action is required. May 25, 2016 · After a fresh boot if my laptop (might be some other situations too but haven't been logging it) goes to sleep and I try to wake it up I get a red X on my detach button icon that says "general failure". I almost always have to attach and reattach from the keyboard 3 times to get it back to working state.

Oct 26, 2015 · the hardware button now reads as Ready to detach, the green rectangle now shows when the its ready, the icon on the task bar itself is active and is a second way to detach besides using the KB key and the screen auto-rotates when detached and when the tablet is put back on in the drawing mode. Sep 16, 2016 · It's not possible that your SP4 battery went from 67% to 0% in 15 minutes. Nor is it possible that it went from 0% to 65% in the next 7 minutes. Clearly, for some reason, the CPU lost contact with the battery and the regained contact within a few minutes. What's not clear is whether the cause of the disconnection is hardware- or software-related.
