A Blue Earth man who participated in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the nation's capitol was sentenced to serve six months in prison followed by a year of supervised release.

James Weeks, 55, was sentenced to 27 months in prison, 36 months of supervised release, and ordered to pay $2,774 in restitution, along with a $5,000 fine. Court documents reveal that Weeks entered the Lower West Terrace Tunnel, pushed open doors for more rioters, and physically attacked a Metropolitan Police Department officer.

Trial began Monday for the Swansea man accused of storming the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Michael St. Pierre, a former Fall River business owner, is charged with a felony offense of civil disorder and several misdemeanors.

A Tennessee man received a year in prison for his involvement in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, with additional supervised release and fines, as reported by the DOJ.

One of the men, from New Jersey, referred to lawmakers as “traitors” and encouraged other rioters to drag them out of the building by their hair, prosecutors said.
