Hi, I’m not sure what airport is closest, since we were road tripping from Vienna. But I know there is an airport in Slovenian city, Bovec, which is about an hour away from the lake.
I read that bears and wolves can be seen around the forest. Has anyone had any dangerous encounters?

There aren't bears in this part of friuli and wolves pay attention to don't go so close to people. I can assure to you that is a super safe place for childs and woman.
